Fired heaters emit an estimated 400 to 500 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) every year. At least 73% of average refinery CO2 emissions come from combustion. If you are focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, it makes sense to target CO2 from fired heaters.
